What a terrific turn out at our February meeting . . . a great deal of discussion about our by-laws, the service club sign entering Arlington, our objectives for the year, and opportunities for the clubs to learn about the other member clubs! Great showing; thanks to all who attended. There were new faces and some regulars!
At our January meeting . . . County Board Chairman Barbara Favola and County Manager Ron Carlee shared their thoughts about the role of the service clubs in the future. Suggestions surrounded connecting with the younger generation! Both are committed to helping service organizations take an active role in the community. The County volunteer coordinator, Sharon Tewksbury-Bloom was also in attendance to remind us of tips to get new members. Feel free to contact Sharon to have her speak with your club/organization!
The 54th Annual Luncheon: A huge success!
Colonel Laura J. Richardson and 85 members of the member clubs met November 19th, 2008 to celebrate the 68th Anniversary of the ISCC. She was well-received by the membership and was impressed by the level of service of our 2008 Man and Woman of the Year recipients: Phil Traina and Pat Koepsel.
Our thanks to Major Earl Fitzgerald who provided our invocation and the Cadet Corps Color Guard who continue to impress us with their presentation of the Colors and the Pledge of Allegiance.
